It’d been another yage night
Folks groaning and dreaming
Puking and comatose
Meeting the dead and wondering why they had signed up for this
Some had a glimpse of something brilliant and kaleidoscopic
Others wallowed in a mud hole of misery
Ill prepared to meet God and all the angels
Having slumbered through life up to this point
Without respect, reciprocity and thankfulness
Friend Chris tells me
Ceremony had almost run its course
The hurricane energy vortexes had come and gone
It was near dawn
Everybody was out
They were tucked away in a sleeping bag
Or covered with blankets
Consciousness drifting in the sublime
Or settled away in a far off galaxy
Chris had managed to sit up the whole night
Breathing in stillness, digesting the teachings
He was still aware
Anyhow about this moment
He hears the rattling and throwing down of seeds
Clack clack clack
Ch ch ch
Tze tze tze
The Taita at work
Time to get up!
Day is coming
Time to greet and welcome the sun
And with that, the whole rainforest grew up around him
The greenery, lianas, palms, buttresses and canopies
Then the roar of the insects, birds, monkeys, jaguars
Well I thought this was crazy cool
Jonathon of rainforest medicine mentioned the earth spirit
Wi Wati who is responsible for this phenomenon
I asked him for more details
He pulled out a description from Celestino Piaguaje –
Four arms, one leg, jangly vine arms
Looks like a Secoya
Yes that matches, thats the dude
He is around here too, just pay attention when you are working in the garden
The one who scatters seeds and makes the plants grow
